What Wine Do You Drink With Grilled Foods?

While we like nothing more than a classic pairing, we break with the beer-and-burgers tradition and crack open some of our favorite bottles next to the grill. From the somms we asked last summer, to patriotic pours this past July 4th, we've tried the gamut. What wine have you been pairing with your grilling this summer?

What wine is your favorite with grilled food?

A big, muscular red wine, like Syrah or Cabernet—enough tannin and structure to stand up to good red meat. A lighter-bodied, but still assertive red, like a Barbera or Rioja—not too too heavy for the weather. A bright, high-acid rosé. It'll help cut through the fat, and it's super refreshing to boot. A zesty New World Sauvignon Blanc. The grassiness will really pair well with the side salad. Something different, like a sparkling red. Lambrusco is awesome with grilled pizza. "If it ain't broke ... ." A refreshing, citrus-forward IPA or crisp pils will do me right.
