For the Sept. 30, 2021, Pinot Noir cover story, Wine Spectator senior editor Kim Marcus set out in May on his first vineyard tour post COVID-19 vaccine. Charting over 1,000 miles along the Sonoma Coast, he eventually narrowed in on the northern coast, in particular the Fort Ross-Seaview appellation, from which many top producers source Pinot Noir. But there are so many more fascinating vineyards, wines and winemakers to discover along the Coast.
